Hello all... and welcome!

My name is Beth Niehaus- I'm a wife, new mom, fur baby mama, and wanted an outlet to share my adventures, tips, findings and more. I love love love holidays, seasons and anything I can make a tradition out of --- needless to say- I like to make everyday a little festive!!! I probably should have started blogging years ago - but here goes nothing! Bear with me as I learn the ins and outs of this thing hehe

I'm going to start out with a little love list that has made today a little more festive =)

1) Halloween pj's -- I'm obsessed! I can't get enough of them and next year I'll definitely be finding some for me too hehe From this smile- I'd like to think he loves them as much as I do!

2) Festive nails-- could these be any more fun? I was against nail art for so long but I think it was b/c most of what I have seen was on every nail and WAY too much for me! My nail girl hates me every time I request something more fun but then she loves me even more after such a crazy accomplishment! They make me smile and feel so festive every time I look down - not to mention Easton is fascinated with them lol

3) Spiders, snakes in lanterns - oh my! One thing you'll quickly learn about me is my obsession with lanterns. I don't know how to explain it but I'm in LOVE and awe of them. I had pumpkins in one on my front porch for fall but decided to spook them up a but for Halloween! Although, the real spider that came crawling across the porch and blended with the fakes ones has me totally freaked out about taking them out after Halloween- talk about too close for comfort!

4) Halloween books... one of my absolute favorite parts of the day is our bedtime routine - we started it with Easton way back when he was only 3 weeks old. We really wanted to get him in a routine early and it has worked like a charm. He loves his baths and every minute of our routine (well except getting out of the bath and saying goodnight to bath toys)... it's bath, bottle, prayers and story time - on nights Craig works we also include facetime with daddy... Story time for the past few weeks (okay... over a month b/c I'm just too excited) has included Halloween themed books... We have several but our favorites are Goodnight Goon, the Spooky Wheels on the Bus (which I now don't read at bedtime b/c singing makes little man way too excited) and Biscuit's Pet and Play Halloween.

5) What's fall and Halloween without PUMPKINS!!! I usually get them for each of us and one for every animal. But this year I discovered green pumpkins and have a huge obsession with white ones. I have them in every room of our house and our front porch has about as many as I could stuff in our tiny steps. Easton has one with a cute "e" on it with a permanent marker. Sooooo simple but oh so festive.... He also loved surfing on all of them at the pumpkin patch... Speaking of pumpkin patches I can't get enough of them... we went apple picking earlier this month, to an event downtown called Operation Pumpkin and went to a pumpkin patch by my sister's school a few weeks ago and will be visiting our 3rd tonight patch.... As Craig likes to say - I try to make everything a photo shoot so I can't pass up an opportunity to have festive fall backgrounds and make as many memories as possible!

Well.... Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed my first post... Hopefully I get the hang of this soon and can make these posts look better.... Stay tuned and find out how I attempt to make anything and everything a little more festive!!!
